In honor of those who lost their lives in the tragic terror attacks made on the World Trade Center 14 years ago, there is a host of commemorative events being held across the country. In New York, a ceremony is being held outside the National September 11 Memorial & Museum that is currently being live-streamed on YouTube. The ceremony kicked of earlier this morning with a moment of silence at 8:46 AM to mark the moment the first plane hit the towers. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama also took part in the moment of silence miles away on the South Lawn of the White House in DC. President Obama will later be traveling to Fort Meade, MD for a town hall meeting with military service members. Back at the 9/11 Memorial in New York’s Wall Street District, there will be movie screenings, multimedia exhibits and storytelling sessions throughout the rest of the day. Find out more at the 9/11 Museum’s website and at USA Today.
