Tourists postponed holidays in Bermuda and locals stocked up on emergency supplies as TS Leslie began its approach to the territory on Thursday. A recent satellite image showed Hurricane Leslie churning in the Atlantic Ocean near Bermuda on Wednesday. The tropical storm is expected to pass over or near Bermuda on Sunday.

Hotel cancellations were also reported across Bermuda as well. Many flock to Bermuda for his picturesque beaches and comfortable climate.

Leslie’s path may take the storm east of Bermuda on Sunday, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The NHC said in a separate advisory that Hurricane Michael crept northwest with 105 mph winds Friday.

Leslie had been a Category 1 hurricane rated on the five-step Saffir-Simpson scale, but weakened when it stalled and began churning up colder water from the depths of the Ocean.
