(HOUSTON) — A baby girl who was abandoned and then dropped off at a fire station in southeast Houston is staying in CPS custody for now, and her mother is in custody.

According to Houston police, Lily’s mother — Stephanie Estrada, 23 — was arrested on outstanding warrants Tuesday morning in the parking lot of a bar on Mykawa. Officers found her thanks to a tip from her brother.

Estrada has since been charged with abandoning a child with intent to return.

A woman who noticed that the child was often left alone offered to babysit Baby Lily for Estrada. When the mother did not come back, the woman took the child to Fire Station 35 in southeast Houston.
