Decisions, Decisions…What Will The Texans Do With The #1 Pick

The Houston Texans’ season completely fell apart in 2013 and they went from 1st to worst in the league. As embarrassing as it was, there was a bright spot, one could argue. Their less than stellar performance as a team garnered them the overall 1st pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Decisions, decisions. What to do, what to do! Most would agree that with the exit of head coach Gary Kubiak and quarterback Matt Schaub, that the Texans’ first order of business is to fill those positions. They’ve taken care of the former with the hiring of Bill O’Brien who coached under Bill Belichick. This is expected to immediately improve the leadership of the team. The question still remains as to what to do at the quarterback position. If the pride of Texas had its way, the hands down pick would be to draft Johnny Manziel, aka Johnny Football, the flamboyant, energetic quarterback from Texas A&M. Most blogs and predictions suggests that’s not going to happen.
The Texans have a few options that may prove to be more beneficial than taking a quarterback with the first pick in the first round. Click here to see what options the Texans may entertain.
The first round of the 2014 NFL Draft kicks off at 5pm P.T. on ESPN and the NFL Network.
