According to CNN,
President Trump‘s chief strategist, Steve Bannon, has been removed from the National Security Council, reversing what had been a controversial decision to put Bannon on it. The move was revealed in a new memo about the council published yesterday (April 5th) in the Federal Register, which no longer lists Bannon as a member of the Principals Committee, a group of high-ranking officials who meet to discuss important national security priorities. When Bannon was initially put on the NSC, it was criticized as being inappropriate for a political adviser to have a role in national security issues. Reportedly Bannon’s removal was part of the effort by National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, who took over the job after the firing of Michael Flynn, to de-politicize the NSC.
Good! He had no business in the position anyway.
