Winter storms in the midwestern and northeastern U.S. are causing flight delays and cancellations affecting travelers departing from Houston airports.

The list of affected flights increased steadily throughout Tuesday morning as the snowstorms moved eastward.

Air carriers are struggling to serve customers following the first round of winter storms that caused weekend flight delays and cancellations.

Continental Airlines flights from Houston to Baltimore and Washington, D.C. were canceled on Tuesday. Southwest Airlines also canceled flights on Tuesday to those cities in addition to Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Chicago.

Some flights may still be delayed or canceled into Wednesday morning.
