KEMAH — Google revealed its top-10 trending searches in several categories for 2024, and a local Houston-area attraction made one of the lists! Kemah Boardwalk was among the top 10 visitor attractions searched via Google Maps in the United States in 2024.

Found on Google Trends‘s “Year in Search” page, the list is one of the categories found under the “Google Maps” section. Kemah Boardwalk placed ninth on the list of the most-searched visitor attractions among all searches made within the U.S. Other top-10-most-searched visitor attractions include:

  1. Sphere, Las Vegas, Nevada
  2. Navy Pier, Chicago, Illinois
  3. Edge NYC, New York, New York
  4. Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, Kentucky
  5. Willis (it is and always will be Sears) Tower, Chicago, Illinois
  6. PIER 39, San Francisco, California
  7. Fantastic Caverns, Greene County, Missouri
  8. Luray Caverns, Luray, Virginia
  9. Kemah Boardwalk, Kemah, Texas
  10. Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign, Las Vegas, Nevada

First opened in 1997, Kemah Boardwalk is a theme park open year-round along the shores of Galveston Bay and Clear Lake, located around 30 miles southeast of downtown Houston. The 60-acre park consists of amusement park rides, restaurants, midway games, a boutique hotel, a charter yacht, a marina and shops. It is owned and operated by Landry’s, Inc.

The boardwalk is open to the public free of charge, but tickets must be purchased for the rides. Kemah Boardwalk also features free live concerts throughout the year, along with a host of other events.
