The two R&B icons arrived at the Playhouse Theatre hand-in-hand, instantly sparking speculation about the nature of their relationship.

Photographs and fan video shared to social media showed Jackson, 59, smiling as she and Maxwell, 52, walked hand-in-hand into the Playhouse Theatre to catch the 1,500th performance of Cabaret.

She rocked an all-white pantsuit with a slicked back bun, while the “Sumthin’ Sumthin’” singer complemented her look in all black. Other celebrity attendees at the milestone show included Eddie Redmayne and Helena Bonham Carter.

We’ve seen the singers look friendly at events before, but the pair walking in holding hands made fans hope they have a little “Sumthin’ Sumthin’” romantic going on. The ultra-talented two stars didn’t exactly pack on PDA to hard-launch a love affair. We know there is no doubt that these Grammy winners look even better together. Although the couple conjecture could be a stretch, we like most fans hope they’ll at least make some beautiful music together. Since both are still very busy with their careers, now is the perfect time for some music.

The twosome seemed in good spirits during the outing, even stopping to smile for photographers.
