There’s this app called Tea that’s been blowin’ up lately, shootin’ straight to the top of the U.S. Apple App Store. It’s a spot where women can spill the tea—pun intended—on their dating experiences, all anonymous-like. But hold up, they just got hit with a major hack! Thousands of images, includin’ selfies, got leaked, and it’s got everyone who signed up before February 2024 sweatin’. The folks behind Tea say they’ve locked things down now, but still, that’s a big oof.The app’s already stirrin’ up drama, with people talkin’ ‘bout privacy and defamation laws—some are worried it’s airin’ dudes’ dirty laundry without their say-so. Sean Cook, the guy who kicked off Tea in 2022, was all about makin’ online dating safer for women, but this hack’s got folks questionin’ whether the app’s got the security chops to back it up. What do y’all think—safe space or privacy nightmare? Let’s hear it!
