
Citing a decline in tax revenue and a drop in ridership, the Metro board Thursday announced the transit agency would see a $49 million shortfall during this fiscal year.
The overall money crunch had already begun to slow construction on the North and Southeast light-rail lines, which have yet to receive $900 million in funding as part of the Federal Transit Administration’s New Starts program. Read more:
