Oprah Winfrey apologized last night at the premiere of “The Butler” about racist claims she made against a Switzerland purse store . Oprah made claims that while she was in Switzerland last month she was refused service and told that she could not see a purse because she could not afford it.
Oprah apologized last night for the incident and how it got blown up. Oprah said that she was just trying to illustrate how discrimination can even exist for her being a media mogul. Check out some of what Oprah had to say below.
“I think that incident in Switzerland was just an incident in Switzerland. I’m really sorry that it got blown up. I purposefully did not mention the name of the store. I’m sorry that I said it was Switzerland.”
“I was just referencing it as an example of being in a place where people don’t expect that you would be able to be there”
