Lee Daniels’ “The Butler, a strong release on August 16th, and top grossing movie this weekend. I’m sure ‘The Butler’ is performing better than expected, despite other great films coming out this weekend. One of the most anticipated films of the year for our Majic listeners by Lee Daniels’ the director of “Precious” was inspired by Eugene Allen, for thirty four years work as a butler. Forest Whitaker plays Cecil Gaines, a respected butler working at the White House and served eight presidents. His wife Gloria played by (Oprah Winfrey) can’t stand the long hours of his demanding job and turns to alcohol to deal with the pain of a torn family. The star studded cast is outstanding. I highly recommend this movie.
