Rep. Charles Rangel overcame a primary challenge Tuesday night, but with a House ethics trial looming in his future, it fell short of the show of strength he hoped for.
Rangel dispatched his most potent rival, Assemblyman Adam Clayton Powell 4th, 50%, to 23%, in a six-way Democratic primary that proved his toughest battle since he unseated Powell’s father 40 years ago.
