If you closed every agency of general state government — the governor’s office, the attorney general’s office, comptroller, etc — and then closed the Department of Public Safety and the prison system and then closed Parks & Wildlife and the agencies that regulate pollutions and shut down all the business and economic development agencies in the state, plus shut down the Legislature and all the courts, well, you’d save $13.6 billion.
