During the 2011 NBA All Star festivities in Los Angeles Jay-Z and LeBron James took the time for some philanthropic endeavors. The two superstars helped to renovate a Boys and Girls Club in East L.A. and sponsored their annual dinner.

“We grew up in the same sort of communities,” Jay-Z told HipHollywood. “Lightning just struck for us in being who we are…These are our people. Marcy Projects is not much different from East L.A.”
