The Gospel Music Channel always has the kind of entertainment you’re not embarrassed to watch with your kids, and their latest offering is no exception.

“Brother White,” starring Emmy Award winner Jackee Harry, will debut on GMC on Sunday, March 11 at 7 p.m. ET.

David A.R. White plays James White, an associate pastor at a Los Angeles megachurch, who is anxious to helm his own congregation. When an opportunity at a rundown inner-city church in Atlanta presents itself, he takes it, despite the objections of his wife and family. Soon Brother White finds out how much he’s needed, as the church is in jeopardy of foreclosure. He hatches a plan to get gospel singer BeBe Winans to perform at the church, despite the skepticism of the congregation’s former church first lady, Veena, played by Harry.

“Comedy is one of the most uplifting forms of entertainment,” said Brad Siegel, vice chairman of GMC. “‘Brother White’ is a unique blend of heart and humor and represents the type of family programming GMC is committed to delivering as part of the network’s world premiere programming slate.”

Reginald Veljohnson of “Family Matters” fame also stars.
