A local mom made a court appearance on Monday, facing accusations she left her two sons inside a hot car. Mercedes Davenport was reportedly touring an apartment complex in Spring, Texas on June 7. Thirty-year-old Davenport reportedly took her daughters with her as she toured the apartment complex but left her 13-year-old and five-month-old sons in her vehicle that was still running. Investigators are not clear if the air conditioner was running or not.
A passer-by saw the two children inside the car that was running and reportedly called the sheriff’s office. Davenport was then arrested at the complex and charged with child endangerment.
