Local law enforcement kicks off a DWI crackdown on this Labor Day weekend. One important tool in getting the message out to the public is a simulated jail cell that has been touring the state of Texas. The last stop is Texas Southern University. The idea is to bring people through the fake jail in the hopes they don’t end up in a real one.

Raquelle Lewis with the Texas Department of Transportation told News 92 FM that these young college students are usually the group most likely to be involved in alcohol related crashes:”Statistics show this group is not only more likely to be in an alcohol related crash but also the most likely to cause this type of crash.”

Law enforcement officials hope to deter Harris County Residents and others from driving while intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or other chemicals.
