A Sugar Land resident is the third confirmed human case of West Nile Virus in Fort Bend County.

The patient, who is a man between the ages of 55 and 74, has been released from the hospital and is recovering from the virus at home, according to a statement released by Fort Bend County Health And Human Services.

The two previous cases of West Nile Virus in Fort Bend County were in a girl 14 or younger from Katy and A Sugar Land woman between the ages of 35 and 44.

Of the 394 reported cases of West Nile Virus in humans who live in Texas, 34 of those people have died.

None of the Fort Bend County residents who have contracted the virus have died.
