Many Harris County voters are being asked to approve a proposal that would allow metro to continue using over 1/4 of the revenue generated by the one cent sales tax for streets and bridges.

Metro chairman Gilbert Garcia shared the following with News 92 FM:

He contends the compromise proposal brings together all interest groups in agreement on the proposal. Despite claims that the proposal will hurt metro’s rail projects, Garcia claims the agency still has the resources it needs to continue work on its three major rail projects.
