A former volunteer at TSU’s radio station has been charged with stealing credit card information from dozens of donors. NEWS 92 FM’s Steve Ottesen reports:

The station used volunteers to work the pledge drive, one of which was 32-year old Michael Whitfield, a convicted felon with a long history of financial fraud.
Investigators say Whitfield stole credit card numbers from as many as 50 donors and then used the information to buy electronics and gift cards, which he sold for cash.
A university spokeswoman told the Houston Chronicle 14 victims have notified the school about the abuse so far, but Whitfield may have had access to as many as 300 donor’s credit card numbers.
Whitfield is currently in jail after being charged with stealing credit card information.
