Lauryn Hill was suppose to be sentenced on Monday, April 22nd, after pleading guilty last year to charges of tax evasion but the sentencing has been delayed for two weeks. Hill’s attorney shared that she recently signed a new $1 million deal with Sony and would be taking out a $650,000 loan to pay off her $968,000 tax bill. The attorney told the judge that he expected Hill to be able to pay off the entire bill by May 3rd.
Lauryn could receive up to a year in jail when she is sentenced but her attorney is seeking probation.
