Harris County files a lawsuit against a southwest Houston motel saying crime there is crippling development in the area.
More than a thousand calls have come in to Houston police about illegal drugs and prostitution at the Red Carpet Inn. Assistant county attorney Laura Cahill says the motel is near several hospitals and health clinics.
Cahill says the high number of crimes make it difficult to attract new hospitals or other development in the area.
