Teen Playing ‘Knockout’ SHOT Twice By Victim

Dear Teens (and anyone FOOLISH enough to participate in this sad game), THERE ARE REPERCUSSIONS TO THE GAME OF ‘KNOCK OUT!’

Last week when CNN first posted the story of this new game called ‘Knockout’  which was spreading across the US.., I was reluctant to re-post the story for moral reasons. Seeing that the game had only been reported in a few east coast and mid-west cities, I initially felt that posting the story would bring reckless attention and ‘awareness’ to impressionable teens who  otherwise had not heard about the foolishness. Not posting the story, would mean less room for ‘copy-cats’. Besides, anyone partaking in such an ignorant and dangerous game couldn’t possibly be smart enough to be online reading or watching informative news outlets, right?

But now, a week later, ALL media outlets are spreading the news on the game of Knockout which may or may not lead to more ‘Knockout’ incidents happening across the U.S.;  even here in Houston, TX (let’s pray for the best).

Should there be a curious or reckless teen reading this who  may just be considering participating in the horrible act of ‘Knockout’, DO BE ADVISED: The game is WRONG! And there are consequences and repercussions to this game that could in the end, leave YOU as the victim.

The Huffington Post reports that “a 17 year old Michigan teenager, who assaulted a man during a variation of the game ‘Knockout’, was shot twice when the victim defended himself with a legally concealed pistol.”  It is understood that in adolescence, kids make terrible mistakes that can be costly and this teen was remorseful stating that he told the targeted victim, “I’m sorry, please don’t kill me. I don’t know why I did that. I’m high, you know. I just wanna go home.” According to Michigan Live. Click here to read the full story from The Huffington Post.

Undoubtedly, there is a responsibility that media has to report news and I hope that by sharing news of this crazy game called ‘Knockout’ nationwide, as well as the repercussions of the game, will put a stop to it.
