What’s your favorite excuse for being late? According to Daily Mail,

A new British survey reveals that half of those questioned say they lie every day to excuse themselves from being late. The research covered two-thousand people and found that 48-percent said being late for work is the more common reason for needing and excuse, and 75-percent admit they tell lies in attempts to get out of a predicament. Twenty-two-percent admit they’ve lied about why they were late to a meeting a friend for a meal, and 78-percent say they only make excuses to spare someone’s feelings. The top five excuses for being late were found to be: There was really bad traffic, my alarm didn’t go off, I got lost on the way, my train was delayed, and my car wouldn’t start. (Daily Mail)
