From our sister News 92 FM,

Another round of winter weather is headed our way.  A winter storm watch will go into effect early Tuesday morning as temperatures drop into this evening with a gusty north wind and some possible rainfall.  Temperatures will drop into the upper twenties by early tomorrow.

Northern counties may begin to see some snowfall.  We could even see snow and sleet falling in Houston and all the way to the coast.  Stay with All NEWS 92 FM for the very latest as the situation changes.

A strong cold front expected to cross southeast Texas Monday morning may bring an icy commute to Houston on Tuesday. A Winter Storm Watch or Winter Weather Advisory is expected.

The National Weather Service said temperatures will fall to near freezing by Tuesday morning, featuring periods of light rain mixed with sleet. In areas north of Brenham, from Conroe to Coldspring, residents can expect that precipitation to transition to snow with freezing rain.

For Houstonians, the threat of another dangerous commute lingers after ending last week with similar conditions.

Areas south of I-10 could receive as much as .30 inches of freezing rain and sleet, icing over bridges and other elevated surfaces once again. Significant glazing of roadways is a possibility, NWS concludes, making travel “difficult and dengerous.”

“The track of the disturbance is also far from settled and if the disturbance tracks further south, much of southeast Texas will remain dry and the precipitation will track toward the middle Texas coast,” the National Weather Service reports.  ”At this time… it does appear that winter weather will affect most of southeast Texas on Tuesday.”

No worries about the snow, folks.  It won’t stick because the ground isn’t cold enough.
