de-la-soul

The Golden Age of Hip Hop is arguably between the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, give or take a year or two. De La Soul is included in that period where Hip Hop was more that rap, it was a culture. Their debut album “3 Feet High And Rising”  helped to make them one of the most prolific and charismatic groups in Hip-Hop history (are there even still ‘groups’ today?). Most people don’t know that their names (one of a few monikers, respectively) came from where their mics were plugged into the sound board, i.e. Plug One, Plug Two and Plug Three. Due to legalities, their music has not always been readily available. Can’t even find it on iTunes. Click here to find out why and when they plan to release new material after 10 years and why they are offering their entire catalogue for free download. Below, check out their 1989 hit Me, Myself and I. Remember this?
