(HOUSTON) — There is a cry for help in Houston for the people of Chile, where disaster has struck once again.
“Tragedy in Chile, around 2,000 homes are completely destroyed, and 10,000 people evacuated,” Fernandez said.
Some of those who lost their homes in Chile have family members in the Houston area. Fernandez says they are scrambling right now to set up a fundraiser for April 26.
He says they are still searching for an appropriate venue, but they want to get the word out so Houstonians can help.
Just two weeks ago, an 8.2 earthquake hit Chile, killing six people.
