The End Violence Against Women Coalition has named Robin Thicke sexist of the year. According to E! Online, Sara Green, a spokesperson for the coalition said in a statement,

“Our heartfelt congratulations to a worthy winner Robin Thicke for both his concerted sexist efforts, and in the end the platform he created for rejection of the use of women as objects to promote mediocre pop. Sexism might be de rigeur for some music industry ‘creatives’ but the times they are a-changin’.”

The group also highlighted a GQ interview that Robin did, where he said about his song “Blurred Lines,”

“What a pleasure it is to degrade a woman. I’ve never gotten to do that before’.”

Apparently, Robin’s prize is a voucher to download Aretha Franklin’s Respect to teach him a lesson.

Meanwhile, Robin’s dad Alan Thicke spoke on Robin’s relationship with estranged wife Paula Patton. He told Us Weekly,

“From my perspective, I always let Robin speak through his music. He’s in the middle of a great album right now. A lot of power in the album.  We love them, they’re great people. Whatever they decide to do, it will be the right thing.”

Good answer, Alan Thicke!
