In addition to the lifetime ban from the NBA and 2.5 million dollar fine imposed on Donald Sterling, the NBA has filed charges to terminate his ownership of he Los Angeles Clippers. The charges against Sterling include disparaging African Americans and minorities, directing a female acquaintance not to associate publicly with African Americans or bring African Americans to Clippers games, and criticizing African Americans for not supporting their communities. Just days before NBA commissioner Adam Silver was expected to obtain a majority vote by other NBA owners to force him to sell, Sterling has agreed to allow his wife, Shelly to negotiate the sale of the team. When the team does sell, it could be sold in upwards of 1 billion dollars. According to lawyers for the Sterlings, Shelly wants to keep her 50% stake in the team. Click here to read more.
