(HOUSTON) — Two men were arrested early Friday and accused of trying to steal a large painting from a high rise in downtown Houston.
It happened around 1 a.m. at JPMorgan Chase Tower, 600 Travis at Capitol.
The suspects somehow had credentials to gain access to the building after hours. Their plan apparently was to take a painting from a wall and exit through a service door from the basement, escaping along the outside sidewalk.

Police said the two men were trying to make off with the painting when they heard a siren, dropped the painting in a stairwell and took off running. One of them tried changing his shirt, allegedly to avoid being detected.
Everything was caught on surveillance cameras, police said.
Houston police arrived and began their investigation. Then, we’re told a security guard saw the two suspects walking down the sidewalk. Police stopped and arrested them.
Its unknown whether they work at the building. They each face felony theft charges.
