‘The Godfather Of Soul,’ James Brown highly anticipated biopic, ‘Get On Up’ will hit theaters nationwide on August 1st. Starring Chadwick Boseman, star of ’42’, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Jill Scott, the film based on the incredible life of Brown’s early days living in poverty in Georgia, his rise to becoming one of pop music’s most influential icons.
Jill Scott during an recent interview admitted portraying the role of Brown’s second wife Deidre ‘Deedee’ Jenkings was quite challenging. ‘Wee had to approach it very gingerly. The family is definitely involved in the film.
