(HOUSTON) — Angry voices drowned out the rain Tuesday night inside an auditorium in the Third Ward.
Protestors are sparring over Houston Independent School District‘s plans to build a new Jack Yates High School.

There were concerns that the design isn’t large enough to contain all the classes that are wanted.
HISD spokesperson Sheleah Reed told our news partner, KHOU 11, that the design is still in the early stages.
More meetings are scheduled before ground is broken on the new school, which will not be for at least another year.
