(HOUSTON) — The Houston Independent School District is investigating threats against students at Lamar High School on social media.

Twitter threats like “I’m shooting that (expletive) up” and “I’m taking it out on everyone” Wednesday rattled some students into taking the day off from Lamar High School on Thursday.

They also have a 16-year-old student charged with making terroristic threats.

One student told our news partner, KHOU 11, he didn’t want to stay at school.

HISD has beefed up security at the school and the student who allegedly made the threats is “fully cooperating with authorities.”
