Deion Sanders is enjoying a great life after football and baseball. The two-sport star and one-time Dallas Cowboy they once called “Prime Time” is rich, he’s in love and he’s a father raising a household of kids, some biological, some not on the OWN reality show Deion’s Family Playbook. He shares the TV screen and his life with Babyface’s ex-wife, TV producer Tracey Edmonds.

Though the two live in separate cities (she’s in L.A., he’s in Dallas) and both have super busy lives and children, somehow they make it work. But does it ever get awkward with Babyface?

No I’m secure, man,” Sanders told the Tom Joyner Morning Show. In fact, there was a scene on the show last season when the two men came together and had a candid talk about their respective roles now that Edmonds and Sanders are in a relationship. “There’s no awkwardness when you’re secure. When you’re insecure, that’s when awkwardness comes.”

So will the powerful duo get married? Both divorced, with Sanders coming off a particularly acrimonious divorce from his ex, Pilar, could the two of them be heading to the altar?

“We need to live in the same city to do that,” Sanders says. “Tracy’s career has taken off – I’m so proud of her. She’s a host on Extra, she’s doing the doggone thing and I’m loving every minute of it. She is doing it – she’s taking it to another level. We gotta let that play out a little bit. Because she’s happy and I’m happy for her. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me. Tracy is a very good woman. I would be blessed if she were to say ‘I do’ to walk down that aisle.

Unlike his ex-wife, Sanders has nothing but complimentary things to say about Edmonds. The two met at Bishop T.D. Jakes’ house one Easter, but initially Sanders was just thinking about business.

“I didn’t call Tracy until probably five months later. I was dealing with a lot of bull-junk and I had to get all this bull-junk out of the way, that I was dealing with and still do. I wanted her to produce this show that I had in my spirit. That’s what we talked about. Several months later, we talked about this show and the relationship ensued shortly after that.”

This season, Sanders and his family, including his outspoken mother, continue to work toward family harmony and meeting the needs of multiple personalities. Sanders also runs a charter school in Dallas, Prime Prep Academy, that made some negative headlines when it almost closed earlier this year due to allegations of financial mismanagement, administrative misconduct and academic issues. But Sanders says those problems have largely been dealt with.

“We’re not in the news so its all good. We have a 100% graduation rate,  94% attendance, we outscored 95% of all the ISD school in the district in the statewide testing. We’re elated by what we’re doing.”

As for his family, they too, are doing well.

“My mom is doing really well,” Sanders says. “My mama don’t play. That’s her gift. She’s raised 10 foster kids in her life and she’s done a wonderful job. That’s where I get my affection for kids from.”

But in any household, there’s always one child that requires more attention or guidance than the others. That’s no different in the Sanders household.

“My 17-year-old, “Sanders says of his oldest son. “Everyone has that one in the house that keeps you on your knees and he’s that one.”
