President Obama Awards Presidential Medal Of Freedom

Ernie Banks, ‘Mr. Cub,’ former Chicago Cubs shortstop died Friday night at age 83. The cause of death has not yet been revealed, but there was an immediate reaction all round the baseball world once the Cubs’ put the new out. President Obama said in a statement, ‘Michelle and I send our condolences to the family of Ernie Banks, and to every Chicagoan and baseball fan who loved him.’ President Obama presented Banks with the nation’s highest civilian honor, the President Medal of Freedom, in 2013.
