Prom season is fast approaching and the Smahrt Girl Foundation (SGF) is gearing up to grant the dream of receiving FREE prom dresses for hundreds of high school girls in Houston and neighboring rural communities. The “Dressing the Dream” program is sponsored by Smahrt Solutions, Inc. President Pamela Ellis says the overwhelming support of last year’s event showed how important this event is to the community.

“Dressing the Dream” is about removing the burden of having to pay for a dress that makes young girls feel beautiful and special. Going to the prom is a time in their lives that they will always remember and our program gives them an opportunity to say “Yes to the Prom Dress.”

In 2014, more than 100 young ladies were able to receive free dresses and accessories thanks to the generous donations of patrons and businesses.

The “Dressing the Dream” event will also include beauty workshops and a shopping extravaganza on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at The House of Dereon located at 2204 Crawford Street, Houston, TX 77002.

“The mission of The Smahrt Girl Foundation is to provide girls living in rural areas of Texas the opportunity to live the life of their dreams by offering positive support through character-building, life skills and leadership programs,” explains Ellis. “Dressing the Dream” is one of our signature events and receives awe-inspiring support from the business community.”

Girls interested in receiving FREE dresses can register on the Smahrt Girl Foundation website at http://www.smahrtgirl.org or call (713) 839-5757. Registration for the event ends on Friday, April 24, 2015. New and gently used dresses and accessories can be dropped off at the attached locations.
