After there, again, was no winner of the record $950 million Powerball jackpot on Saturday (January 9th), it has now grown to an astounding $1.3 billion, according to lottery officials.
That’s not only an American record, but the largest ever anywhere in the world and the number is sure to go even higher before the next drawing on Wednesday.
Seventy-five percent of all the possible combinations were bought before Saturday’s drawing, and even though there was no jackpot winner, 25 tickets won $1 million by matching five numbers, and three other tickets won $2 million because they paid extra to multiply smaller prizes.
