According to Billboard,
Janelle Monae is set to star alongside Taraji P. Henson in the upcoming film Hidden Figures. The film is based on Margot Lee Shetterfly’s book Hidden Figures: The Story of the African-American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race. The story centers on a group of black women who gave NASA the important mathematical data needed to launch the space program’s Friendship 7 mission, which saw John Glenn become the first American astronaut to orbit the Earth in 1962. According to Variety, Henson will play mathematician Katherine Henson, and Monae will play her colleague Mary Jackson. The film is set to be released in January 2017.
I can’t wait to see how good, or bad, of an actress Janell Monae is. I’m sure she’s going to kill this role!
