WeTV’s Sisters-In-Law follows a group of black female lawyers in Houston as they fight for justice and try to keep their friendships in tact.

Jolanda Jones talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about the new show, why she was a bit nervous about stepping into the world of reality television and her Hall of Fame records she holds in the state of Texas.

On being hesitant about joining a reality show:

“There were concerns for me because normally they show black women as ratchet…video vixens…and no accomplishments. But I’m pleased. You get to see me fight for a murder charge. People don’t know what we do, so I’m thankful you get to see us from a criminal defense perspective.”

Her volunteer during the recent deadly Houston floods:

“I’ve been an activist all my life so it wasn’t a second thought to help the displaced and get the Red Cross to do what their supposed to do.”

Sisters-In-Law airs on WeTV, Thursdays at 10p/9p CST. Click the link above to hear the entire interview.
