Having a boss you find motivating and supportive may seem like a great thing, but new findings show it can harm your health. According to Men’s Health,

U.K. scientists monitored postal workers and their managers for over three years and found that employees who reported “transformational leaders” were more likely to come into work with an illness. Studies have shown that bosses who encourage their team to go above and beyond are beneficial to employees’ health in the short term, boosting mood and sleep quality. The problem is that pushing yourself extra hard to impress your boss can wear your immune system down. If you’re stressed out all the time, your body needs time to relax and recover or else you’re more apt to get sick.
