Jesse Williams will not be fired from Grey’s Anatomy despite a petition requesting his dismissal garnering over 5,000 signatures after his BET Awards acceptance speech.
Shonda Rhimes took to Twitter on Monday (July 4th) to remind people just who makes the ultimate decision on who stays and who goes from her shows. She wrote,
“Um, people? Boo don’t need a petition. #shondalandrules.”
Jesse also addressed the situation over the weekend writing,
“Do not promote empty people & their tantrums. Pure clickbait to gain followers, attention & money, for themselves, not you. Never you.”
I guess she told’em and he did too!
