Destiny’s Child’s first record deal has been revealed. According to The Jasmine Brand,

Back in 1996, the group — which at the time included Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Latavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, were only paid $85,000 to record their first album with Sony Music and the label wouldn’t release their albums in other countries unless they had five consecutive weeks on the Billboard Chart.  Per the deal, DC was to deliver their first album within six months of signing their contracts. The second album was to be delivered no later than 18 months after the deal was signed. Sony had the group under contract periods where they could choose to renew the deal or let them go.

They’ve came a long way since then.
