Bow Wow is exhausting.

Every couple of months the rapper slash actor will pop up with some ridiculous way to stay relevant, and last week, he outdid himself.

In a series of tweets, in response to the presidential election and overall civil rights for African Americans, the 29-year-old shared his perspective on the fight.

As we reported, the talent who’s real name is Shad Moss, said he doesn’t feel the need to address the current climate of this country. And furthermore, can’t completely relate because he’s “mixed race”. For proof, he shared a mugshot photo of his estranged father.

In response to his simple, narrow-minded comments, TV host Roland Martin responded via Twitter.

“These comments by Bow Wow @smoss about being mixed and not understanding civil rights is some of the dumbest ish I’ve EVER seen in my life,” Martin said.

A$AP Rocky was pulled into the fire only a few days before for comments he made in a 2015 Time Out interview that resurfaced.

“I think speaking on a subject is fine but I don’t feel like I need to make songs off of it,” he said in response to making more conscious music. “If I felt like doing it I would. [Someone’s] whole question was, ‘Why haven’t you [gotten political?’ I’m like, B**ch, ’cause I don’t feel like it. Kendrick is doing that already. J. Cole is doing it already. Let them deal with that sh*t.”

Adding, “I’m just gonna stay black and die. Why, because I’m black? So every time something happens because I’m black I gotta stand up? What the f**k am I, Al Sharpton now? I’m A$AP Rocky. I did not sign up to be no political activist. I wanna talk about my motherf**kin’ lean, my best friend dying, the girls that come in and out of my life, the jiggy fashion that I wear, my new inspirations in drugs! I don’t wanna talk about no f**king Ferguson and sh*t because I don’t live over there! I live in f**king Soho and Beverly Hills. I can’t relate. I’m in the studio; I’m in these fashion studios; I’m in these bi**hes’ drawers. I’m not doing anything outside of that. That’s my life.”

The 27-year-old has since addressed those comments, saying they were “taken out of context”, but the issue of accountability still remains.

Point blank: Both of these rappers —regardless of afforded lifestyle— are black men.

“Relatable” or not, try using this existential ‘life is good’ crap on the next officer that pulls you over. We’ll see how privileged you are then.
