The Simpsons is finally set to pass Gunsmoke as the longest-running scripted TV series of all-time; Fox renewed it for seasons 29 and 30 on Friday.

Gunsmoke, the long-running CBS western, sits at 635 total episodes, with The Simpsons just reaching the 600-episode milestone last month.

The two season renewal should mean about 46 additional episodes. The Simpsons launched on January 14th, 1990, winning 32 Emmys and becoming an essential part of pop culture over the course of its run.
