Prince’s NPG record label has sued Jay Z’s Roc Nation for illegally streaming the late music icon’s music. According to TMZ,

NPG has accused Roc Nation of overstepping an agreement Prince signed with them before his death. The late musician made a deal for Roc Nation to stream the last album he released before his deal entitled Hit N Run: Phase 1 through Tidal.

Prince’s label said that despite the deal, Roc Nation decided to stream almost all of Prince’s catalogue and started doing so on June 7th, 2016 — which would have been Prince’s 58th birthday. NPG says Roc Nation didn’t have permission to do so.

Oh man, let’s see how this will pan out.
