Mary J. Blige opened up about her divorce from husband of 12 years, Kendu Martin Isaacs on Good Morning America yesterday (November 16th). The music icon appeared to promote her King and Queen of Hearts tour with Maxwell, told Robin Roberts about going through a divorce, [“My heart is OK. I’m hanging in there. No one wants to go through this. This is hard. ..” Robin: “What was the moment when you said I can’t do this anymore. I have to make a change.” Mary: “The breaking point was when I kept asking over and over and over again for respect and to be respected and it just seems like I was beating a dead horse and it seems like I was talking to a wall. I just wasn’t getting it back. If I can’t get respect in the relationship, then I have to move on to save myself. That was the point where I’m like, I’m done. I just can’t do it any more.”
She continued, [“What is getting me through is God, is prayer, is my family, people that love me, my fans. Me being healthy, loving myself, taking care of myself. Getting that self-awareness to put me in a place where I can see things clearer. This is what’s getting me through.”] SOUNDCUE (:20 OC . . getting me through)
She added, [“I have to stay strong and I have to be the strength for myself. I had to save myself and I’m saving myself now.”
Mary also gave women in a similar situation some advice, saying, [“You cannot rely on people to handle your business. You have to handle your business. You have to take responsibility and stay on top of it because things like this will happen if you don’t. ..and of course you need people that will help you but they can’t do anything for you. You have to be in the mix of it.”

MORE ON THE RUMORED AFFAIR BETWEEN KENDU AND MARY’S ARTIST STARSHELL
Meanwhile, all week there’s been rumors that the reason Mary filed for divorce is because Kendu was having a long time affair with her artist Starshell. Rumor has it that Mary, Kendu and Starshell allegedly had threesomes often, but Kendu kept seeing Starshell behind Mary’s back. Well, Instagram gossip blog @spillth3sugar via Industry On Blast has spilled more tea on the situation, saying that Mary is actually the one who allegedly invited Starshell into the bedroom, but Kendu ended up falling in love with her.
The blog said,” . . . though Mary accepted the relationship and let Starshell pose as her artist, the marriage just never recovered from it and was affecting Mary’s finances as he took her on as his official side piece and supporting her financially with Mary’s scratch. ….Wasn’t a secret in the industry, a lot of people hated Kendu for publicly dissing Mary, because he did, but decided to not speak on it out of respect for Mary. He brought her everywhere they went so everybody witnessed the disrespect because he would introduce Starshell to some people as his woman so that certain n*ggas wouldn’t get at her.
Meanwhile, a flight attendant also confirmed to Famelous that she’s seen Kendu and Starshell on a flight before and they were definitely together.
