Mariah Carey has fired her creative director following her New Year’s Eve performance. According to ET Online,
A source confirmed that Mariah has axed Anthony Burrell, saying, “He’s not being brought back [in 2017] for a number of reasons.” Apparently, Burrell’s termination stems from the singer’s botched performance. The creative director reportedly moved Mariah’s backup singers off stage prior to the performance, which left MiMi without their vocal support when she experienced the malfunction.
Burrell tweeted about the performance, saying,
