According to ESPN, Former superstar player Magic Johnson has been given the job of president of basketball operations for the Los Angeles Lakers in a shakeup of the struggling franchise’s front office by owner Jeanie Buss.
Buss also fired general manager Mitch Kupchak yesterday (February 21st) and dismissed her brother, Jim Buss, as executive vice president of basketball operations. Johnson, who has no experience as a personnel executive, was put in charge of basketball operations just 19 days after returning to Lakers in an executive role.
