Barack Obama Hosts Community Event For Obama Presidential Center

According to the Chicago Tribune,

Former President Barack Obama announced yesterday (May 3rd) that he and his wife Michelle are donating $2 million to summer jobs programs in their hometown of Chicago. He said the donation is being made so that, quote, “young people can get to work and we can start providing opportunities to all of them.” Obama shared that news as he unveiled plans for the Obama Presidential Center, which will be in Jackson Park on Chicago’s South Side. The Center will sit on a campus that will include a museum, a forum and a library, as well as outdoor park space. Obama is expected to use the center to focus on issues including criminal justice reform and education for underprivileged children.

The project is expected to be completed by 2021. I can’t wait to go to Chicago and visit that once it’s done!
